Abstract: With concerns about the depletion of natural resources and the increase in environmental awareness, there is a need to seek raw materials of natural origin for use mainly in the industrial segment, which, based on technological knowledge, can be used to make better use of them and to develop less polluting and efficient production processes. Through research and mapping carried out by regional institutions, varieties of Amazonian plant fibers have emerged that have the potential to be used as raw materials for regional and national industries. To this end, we aim to analyze the scenario of regional plant fibers as a driving force behind the Amazonian Bioeconomy. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, using secondary material from bibliographic and documentary sources, with data and content analysis. The Bioeconomy in Brazil has the potential to improve the entire production chain, and the use of plant fibers constitutes a promising segment given the regional peculiarities combined with scientific knowledge and traditional wisdom.
