POTENCIAL TERAPÊUTICO DO OZÔNIO NA MEDICINA VETERINÁRIA INTEGRATIVA
O ozônio é uma molécula natural formada pela união de três átomos de oxigênio através de ligações covalentes, que lhe proporcionam características peculiares, possibilitando seu uso em terapêutica, a chamada ozonioterapia. Inúmeras pesquisas têm sido desenvolvidas para compreender suas ações sobre organismos animais, e suas aplicações na medicina veterinária integrativa. A fim de possibilitar maior compreensão sobre a temática, por meio de uma revisão narrativa da literatura pertinente, foram coligidos os principais dados relativos ao uso do ozônio no tratamento de uma diversidade de afecções em animais, abordando as ações farmacológicas evidenciadas até o momento, como antimicrobiana, antioxidante, cicatrizante, imunomoduladora, dentre outras. Os estudos analisados revelam as potencialidades do ozônio como agente terapêutico em medicina veterinária, embora sejam necessárias mais pesquisas para elucidar o(s) mecanismo(s) de ação envolvido(s) nos efeitos sobre os organismos vivos.

Abstract:
Ozone is a natural molecule originated by the merging of three atoms of oxygen due to covalent bonds that provide it peculiar characteristics and which grant it therapeutic usage, the so-called Ozone Therapy. Countless researches have been developed in order to comprehend its actions over animal organisms and how the molecule can be applied in Integrative Veterinary Medicine. In order to provide a wider comprehension round this thematic, through a narrative review of the relevant literature the main data was compiled, related to the use of ozone treatment in a wide variety of animal affections, addressing the areas in the pharmacological actions that were highlighted until then; such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, wound healing, immunomodulatory, among others. The analysed researches showed the potentialities of the ozone as a therapeutic agent in veterinary medicine, although more research would be necessary in order to clarify the mechanisms of action related to the effects on living organisms.
