Abstract: Chrysin, a flavonoid belonging to the flavone class, has garnered increasing interest due to its diverse and promising bioactive effects, which include antioxidant, anticonvulsant, antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, antineoplastic, and antidepressant properties. This compound is naturally found in honey and in some plant species, among which Passiflora caerulea stands out, a plant abundant in South America yet underexplored for human consumption or other uses. Thus, this chapter aims to present studies on the feasibility of determining chrysin from Passiflora caerulea using a simple and effective method. To this end, the chapter is divided into four sections. The first section will provide a synthesis of studies on the determination of chrysin. The second section will briefly discuss flavonoids, with an emphasis on chrysin. The third section will explore the methods of extraction and determination of chrysin. Finally, the last section will present future perspectives and final considerations on the study.
