POSSE RESPONSÁVEL E BEM-ESTAR DE ANIMAIS DOMÉSTICOS NA VISÃO DE ALUNOS DO ENSINO MÉDIO NO MUNICÍPIO DE ROLIM DE MOURA, RONDÔNIA, BRASIL.
A inter-relação entre os humanos e os animais foi responsável pelo desenvolvimento dos laços afetivos e de uma linguagem que se fortaleceram ao longo dos anos e permitiu estabelecer uma relação vantajosa e prazerosa para ambos, na maioria dos casos. No entanto, o aumento do número de animais de companhia somado a falta de discernimento dos tutores sobre a reponsabilidade necessária ao adquirir um animal, aumenta significativamente a possibilidade de maus tratos. O presente estudo objetivou identificar se os alunos de duas escolas do ensino médio (uma pública e outra privada), localizadas no município de Rolim de Moura – RO, tem conhecimentos sobre maus tratos de animais. O estudo transversal ocorreu nos meses de maio e junho de 2019, entrevistando 142 alunos, 106 da escola de ensino estadual e 36 da escola de ensino particular. As intervenções tiveram o intuito de ao final da pesquisa esclarecer dúvidas e proporcionar conhecimentos para possíveis mudanças de atitudes em relação à posse responsável e ao bem-estar dos animais domésticos, além do reforço sobre a necessidade da atuação do Médico Veterinário na instrução e conscientização da população sobre a posse responsável e saúde pública. Foi realizada análise estatística dos dados utilizando a planilha eletrônica Microsoft Excel que permitiu identificar a desinformação dos alunos sobre os cuidados com os animais e a atuação do Médico Veterinário. Durante a entrevista pode-se identificar que a pouca dedicação aos animais e a não castração não é considerado quando se analisa o bem estar, assim como, ausência de água, alimentação e abandono são nitidamente considerados maus tratos por esse grupo pesquisado. Conclui-se com esta pesquisa que é notável a carência de informações sobre posse responsável, cuidados básicos e o que é considerado maus tratos aos animais de companhia.

Abstract:
The interrelationship between humans and animals was responsible for the development of affective bonds and a language that were strengthened over the years and allowed to establish an advantageous and pleasurable relationship for both, in most cases. However, the increase in the number of companion animals added to the lack of discernment of the guardians about the responsibility necessary to acquire an animal, significantly increases the possibility of mistreatment. This study aimed to identify whether students from two high schools, located in the city of Rolim de Moura – RO, have knowledge about animal abuse. The cross-sectional study took place in May and June 2019, interviewing 142 students, 106 from state schools and 36 from private schools. The interventions aimed at the end of the research to clarify doubts and provide knowledge for possible changes in attitudes towards the responsible ownership and welfare of domestic animals, in addition to reinforcing the need for the role of the Veterinarian in the education and awareness of the population on responsible tenure and public health. Statistical analysis of data was performed using a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, which allowed the identification of students' misinformation about animal care and the role of the veterinarian. During the interview, it can be identified that little dedication to animals and non-castration is not considered when analyzing welfare, as well as the absence of water, food and abandonment are clearly considered mistreatment by this researched group. With this research, the lack of information about responsible ownership, basic care and what is considered mistreatment of companion animals is remarkable.
