PONTOS-CHAVE DE CONTROLE PARA O MANUSEIO DOMICILIAR DE PACIENTES COM ENCEFALOPATIA CRÔNICA NÃO PROGRESSIVA DA INFÂNCIA PELOS CUIDADORES.
Introdução: é de conhecimento que portadores de encefalopatia crônica não progressiva da infância apresentam padrões de postura e movimento incoordenados, tornando restritas a intenção e escolha para desenvolverem a função motora global e específica dentro dos padrões de normalidade. Após a alta fisioterapêutica do setor de neuropediatria da PUC-Campinas, São Paulo, as mães-cuidadoras, público-alvo do projeto de extensão docente, precisam protagonizar o manejo e cuidados de seus filhos na rotina domiciliar. No entanto, sentiam-se inseguras para melhor manuseá-los e apresentavam desconfortos posturais diante da sobrecarga física imposta. Assim, os pontos-chave de controle são técnicas que utilizam determinadas regiões corporais dos pacientes que facilitaram movimentos maternos mais adequados, além de as mães-cuidadoras terem adotado posições menos impactantes para seu sistema musculoesquelético. Objetivos: promover o aprendizado das cuidadoras para manusearem adequadamente seus filhos com a referida encefalopatia e reeducar a postura física materna, reduzindo o impacto no sistema musculoesquelético. Método: seleção de conteúdo técnico-científico em livros e Bases de Dados: Portal de Periódicos-CAPES, MEDLINE, SciELO e LILACS. Elaboração de um material informativo tendo como referencial fotos e vídeos capturados de simulações realizadas pelas voluntárias e docente responsável. Compartilhamento com o público-alvo nas atividades de extensão do projeto. Resultados: elaboração do ‘Tutorial de pontos-chave de controle para manuseio dos pacientes no domicílio pelos cuidadores’. Conclusão: a educação permanente ao utilizar os pontos-chave nos manuseios dos filhos foi bem-sucedida pelo público-alvo. Os relatos das cuidadoras nas atividades evidenciaram redução do impacto no sistema musculoesquelético durante o manejo dos pacientes.

Abstract:
Introduction: It is well known that children with non-progressive chronic encephalopathy have uncoordinated posture and motion patterns, restricting their intent and choice in developing global and specific motor function within normal limits. After release from physical therapy in the Neuropediatrics sector of PUC-Campinas, São Paulo State, mothers, the target audience of the project, must deal with the management and care of these children during the home routine. However, they typically feel insecure about their capacity to better handle these duties and often present postural discomfort when faced by the imposed physical overload. The key control points is a technique which uses determined regions of the body to facilitate more appropriate manipulation of the patient, while allowing caretakers to adopt less negatively impactful positions on the musculoskeletal system. Objectives: to guide caregivers on how to properly handle children with said encephalopathy and re-educate them on adequate postures, reducing possible negative impact on the musculoskeletal system. Method: selection of scientific-technical content from books and the databases: Portal de Periódicos-CAPES, MEDLINE, SciELO and LILACS. Explanation of informative material, referenced to photos and videos captured from simulations carried out by volunteers under direction of professionals. Sharing with the target audience during project extension activities. Results: An elaboration of the 'Tutorial of key control points for handling patients at home by caregivers'. Conclusion: Education on the usage of key control points in child handling was quite successful for the target audience. The reports of caregivers following the activities, demonstrated evidence of a reduction of the impact on the musculoskeletal system during the management of patients.
