POLISSACARÍDEOS COMO FONTE DE NOVOS RECURSOS TERAPÊUTICOS PARA O FORTALECIMENTO DO SISTEMA IMUNOLÓGICO
Nos últimos anos, um grande
interesse tem sido direcionado na descoberta
de novos e inovadores imunomoduladores
que podem ser usados no tratamento de
doenças associadas as deficiências do sistema
imunológico, tais como doenças infecciosas
e câncer. Neste cenário, os componentes
bioativos de origem natural, derivados
principalmente de plantas, demonstraram um
forte potencial imunoestimulante; destacando
os polissacarídeos como modificadores da
resposta biológica. Esses polímeros são
capazes de estimular o sistema imune inato, exercendo atividade antitumoral, antiviral e
antimicrobiana. Consequentemente, este artigo enfoca principalmente a apresentação
de uma revisão das propriedades imunoestimulantes dos polissacarídeos. Além disso,
este trabalho incluirá estudos envolvendo alguns aspectos relevantes sobre o sistema
imunológico e imunodeficiências. Assim, é possível usá-lo como um guia para futuras
pesquisas na área.

Abstract:
In recent years a great interest has been focused on the discovery of
new and innovative immunomodulators that can be used in the treatment of diseases
associated with deficiencies of the immune system, such as infectious diseases and
cancer. In this scenario, the bioactive components from natural origin, mainly derived
from plants, have demonstrated a strong potential immunostimulant; highlighting the
polysaccharides as biological response modifiers. These polymers are capable of
stimulating the innate immune system, exerting antitumor, antiviral and antimicrobial
activity. Consequently, this article focuses primarily on the presentation of a review
of the immunostimulating properties of polysaccharides. Moreover, this work will
include studies involving some relevant aspects about the immune system and
immunodeficiencies. Thus, it is possible to use it as a guide for future research in the
area.
