Abstract: This article analyzes the school policing model in the state of Pará, investigating its strategies, operational challenges, and impacts on security and educational coexistence. Starting from the national context of increased violence in school environments, the study focuses on the particularities of the reality in Pará, where police action in schools involves initiatives such as the School Patrol, PROERD (Educational Program for Resistance to Drugs and Violence), PMZITO (Military Police Special Operations Unit), and the Safe School Project, in addition to local projects. Through a qualitative approach, combining document analysis and official data, the article identifies the main advances and limitations of this policing model. Among the results, the lack of human resources and the need for greater integration between security and pedagogical approaches stand out. It concludes that, although police presence contributes to the reduction of serious incidents, its effectiveness depends on intersectoral policies that associate violence prevention, promotion of human rights, and investment in conflict mediation. The study suggests expanding continuing education programs for security professionals and adopting periodic evaluation mechanisms, aiming for a balance between protection and guaranteeing a democratic school environment.
