em benefício dos setores hegemônicos da
economia revela que a especulação imobiliária,
aliada de muitas representações políticas, tem
protagonizado os principais conflitos entre a
implantação de grandes projetos urbanos e
suas respectivas desapropriações e remoções.
No caso da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, um dos
principais embates se deu a partir da construção
do Parque Olímpico, na Barra da Tijuca, que foi
palco principal das competições no decorrer dos
Jogos Olímpicos Rio-2016, e as remoções na
Vila Autódromo, vizinha ao empreendimento. O
Rio de Janeiro passou por uma série de obras
e reformas com a justificativa da preparação da
cidade para os grandes eventos internacionais,
contudo as intervenções são sempre favoráveis
ao potencial imobiliário e turístico de uma
localidade específica. Portanto, o processo
de remoção da população de baixa renda da
Vila Autódromo e, também, de outras favelas
da cidade, que se consolidou ignorando a
legislação vigente sobre a temática, feriu o
direito constitucional à cidade e à moradia digna
e bem localizada.

Abstract:
The violation of the right to housing
for the benefit of the hegemonic sectors of the
economy reveals that real estate speculation,
allied with many political representations,
has been the main conflicts between the
implementation of large urban projects and
their respective expropriations and removals.
In the case of the city of Rio de Janeiro, one
of the main events was the construction of the
Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca, which was the
main stage of the competitions during the Rio
2016 Olympic Games, and the removals in the
Vila Autodrómo, next to the development. Rio
de Janeiro has undergone a series of works
and reforms with the justification of preparing
the city for major international events, but
the interventions are always favorable to the
real estate and tourism potential of a specific
locality. Therefore, the process of removing the
low-income population of Vila Autódromo and
other favelas in the city, which was consolidated
ignoring the current legislation on the subject,
violated the constitutional right to the city and
decent and well-located housing.
