Abstract: ABSTRACT: This article presents an experience in the Institutional Program of Scholarships for Teaching Initiation - PIBID, at the University of Planalto Catarinense - UNIPLAC, experienced at the Mutirão Municipal School of Basic Education, in Lages - SC, during the years 2020 and 2021. In the article, it is reported how the development of the institutional project occurred in Mathematics classes, as well as its importance in the academic context, especially due to the fact that education, along with various other sectors of society, was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The PIBID project provides future teachers with their first supervised teaching experiences. It is through this contact that future education professionals start building their careers as teachers, combining what they learn at university with their experiences in the school setting, bridging the gap between theory and teaching practice. For schools, the project brings integration between higher education and basic education, contributing to the improvement of teaching and student learning. For undergraduate students, it provides opportunities for discoveries, learning, self-assessment, and, mainly, the possibility of experiencing the school context in a practical and supervised manner, aiming to enhance their pedagogical practices.
