Abstract: The participation in the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBID) provided undergraduate students with practical experience in the school environment, enabling critical analysis of the educational context and the development of innovative pedagogical proposals. At the Integrated Education Complex of Caetité (CIEC), a workshop was conducted with students from the 1st and 2nd years of high school, integrating Financial Mathematics and Literature. The main goal was to stimulate students’ interest in mathematical topics through everyday situations, encouraging critical thinking and the conscious use of financial knowledge. The methodology included remote activities, readings, and the resolution of contextualized problems, fostering active student engagement and the development of skills in financial mathematics. Partial results indicated increased participation, enhanced understanding of financial concepts, and the recognition of their applicability in various aspects of daily life. The experience demonstrated the formative potential of PIBID in building teaching identity, by integrating theory and practice and allowing for real teaching experiences, thus reinforcing the importance of meaningful and contextualized methodologies for mathematics education.
