Abstract: In this work, we present some of the actions of the PIBID (Institutional Scholarship Program for Teaching Initiation) of mathematics at the UFNT, in a state public school in the municipality of Araguaína/TO, whose objective was to help students in learning mathematics. The methodology is based on qualitative research, of the action research type with a participatory approach. This study is based on an account of the episodes experienced by the Pibidians transcribed from logbook records, video photographs and research. Contemplating the training of those involved, specifically with regard to the teacher's commitment to education and interaction in the teaching process, the results of this work indicate that we can work with the teaching of mathematics from active methodologies. In this way, we propose to continue studies and research in this area, with the aim of surveying and developing activities that can further collaborate with student learning.
