Abstract: The Education through Work for Health Program (PET-Saúde) is a strategy proposed by the Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Ministry of Education to promote health and education in educational institutions, health services, and the community. This study sought to understand the main objectives and activities of the PET-Saúde Equity program, and also evaluated its influence on themes associated with continuing education, permanent education in institutions, and permanent education for SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System) workers in the context of disabilities and types of disabilities and health. A methodological search of the bibliography, literature, and government platforms resulted in the premise that PET-Saúde stimulates multiprofessional work, acts in favor of the community, and promotes equity, in addition to better preparing workers and students. Thus, it can be concluded that the program articulates teaching, work, and management in favor of a quality public service and the community.
