PESQUISA EM RELAÇÕES INTERNACIONAIS – RELEVÂNCIA PARA O BRASIL
A moderna disciplina de Relações Internacionais no Brasil, caminha no sentido de alcançar um “status” epistêmico, uma vez que esta ultrapassou importantes estágios em sua evolução epistemológica. Das primeiras abordagens idealistas passa-se a uma etapa com maior preocupação em se definir matrizes teóricas e metodológicas coerentes e articuladas. Nessa conjuntura de desenvolvimento dos estudos que procuram dar inteligibilidade a realidade complexa como é a política internacional, o realismo e o transnacionalismo ou interdependência complexa que se apresentam como alternativas teóricas mais lúcidas, com o pensamento realista centrado nos conflitos interestatais e o transnacionalismo, com sua ênfase na articulação entre as diversas unidades que compõem o sistema. Essas duas escolas de pensamento foram importantes para a compreensão do sistema-mundo. Todavia, os elementos fundamentais levantados pelos realistas continuam tendo validade. Nesse ponto, é preciso analisar as premissas do transnacionalismo, essenciais para a compreensão do processo de mundialização da economia e a interação entre os diversos atores do canteiro internacional. Destarte, as duas linhas de análise podem ser utilizadas para o estudo das Relações Internacionais.

Abstract:
The modern discipline of International Relations in Brazil is moving towards achieving an epistemic status, since it has passed important stages in its epistemological evolution. From the first idealistic approaches we pass to a stage with greater concern in defining coherent and articulated theoretical and methodological matrixes. At this juncture of development of studies that seek to make intelligible the complex reality of international politics, realism and transnationalism or complex interdependence present themselves as more lucid theoretical alternatives, with realist thought centered on interstate conflicts and transnationalism, with its emphasis on the articulation between the various units that make up the system. These two schools of thought have been important in understanding the world-system. However, the fundamental elements raised by the realists are still valid. At this point, it is necessary to analyze the premises of transnationalism, essential to the understanding of the economic globalization process and the interaction between the diverse actors of the international scene. Therefore, both lines of analysis can be used for the study of International Relations
