Abstract: This study aims to discuss the future perspectives for women's health in HIV prevention following the discovery of Lenacapavir. Since its emergence in the 1980s, the AIDS epidemic has profoundly impacted global health, especially that of women. This article reviews the evolution of AIDS, with a focus on women's health, and explores the role of Lenacapavir, an antiviral recently approved by ANVISA, in the prevention and treatment of HIV in women. The research involves a literature review on the efficacy, safety, and acceptance of Lenacapavir in clinical trials. The results indicate that despite advancements, women continue to face challenges due to biological, social, and economic factors. Lenacapavir has shown promise in reducing viral load and may transform the approach to HIV prevention and treatment in women, offering a more effective and less frequently administered option. It is essential to continue monitoring its implementation to ensure widely accessible benefits and to explore its future implications for public health.
