PERSONAGENS FEMININAS DE HARPER LEE EM O SOL É PARA TODOS
Com o crescimento do feminismo, estudos sobre o papel da mulher na sociedade se tornam importantes. Sendo a literatura um meio de observação, uma investigação de obras clássicas é uma possibilidade de estudo social. Este estudo procura analisar, com base em pesquisas bibliográficas, as personagens femininas na obra O Sol é Para Todos, de Harper Lee, destacando suas influências no leitor, considerando o contexto histórico-social e atual. Mesmo sendo leitura obrigatória nos colégios americanos, a obra não é muito difundida entre os leitores brasileiros. Dessa forma, o estudo tem como finalidade colaborar com a discussão sobre a representatividade da mulher na literatura norte-americana. Portanto, os resultados obtidos através de levantamento bibliográfico delineiam a sociedade americana da década de 1930, podendo se fazer uma ligação com a atualidade. Conclui-se, por fim, que as personagens adultas são de extrema importância para o desenvolvimento da identidade da protagonista Scout e que, mesmo reafirmando estereótipos, nenhuma delas segue totalmente o padrão, muitas vezes quebrando os modelos de feminino/masculino, e servindo como exemplo de resistência às normas sociais e de gênero aos leitores.

Abstract:
With the rising of feminism, studies about the women's role in society become important. Since literature is a device of observation, an investigation of classical books is a possibility of social study. This study aims to analyzing, based on bibliographical research, the female characters in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, highlighting its influences on the reader, considering the historical-social and current context. Even though it is a compulsory reading in American schools, the work is not known by Brazilian readers. Thus, the study aims to collaborate with the discussion about the representativeness of women in American literature. Therefore, the results obtained through a bibliographical survey delineate the American society of the 1930s and indicate that it is possible to make a connection with the present time. It is concluded, finally, that adult characters are extremely important for the development of Scout’s identity, and that even reaffirming stereotypes, none of the female characters completely follows the pattern, often breaking the female/male models, and serving readers as an example of resistance to social and gender norms.
