PERSISTÊNCIA DO DUCTO ARTERIOSO EM CÃES: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
O ducto arterioso é um vaso originado no sexto arco aórtico, que na fase fetal conecta a artéria pulmonar à aorta e, após o nascimento, fisiologicamente, ocorre o seu fechamento em algumas horas, dando origem ao ligamento arterioso. No entanto, quando não ocorre a sua oclusão, por defeito genético que comumente acomete cães, resulta na persistência do ducto arterioso (PDA) ou ducto arterioso patente. A PDA apresenta-se de duas formas: clássica (fluxo sanguíneo da aorta para a arteria pulmonar) e reversa (fluxo sanguíneo da artéria pulmonar para a aorta). O diagnóstico se dá pelos sinais clínicos e exames complementares, especialmente de imagem. O tratamento curativo é cirúrgico, apenas no caso da PDA clássica, com ligaduras do ducto arterioso, empregando protocolos anestésicos específicos. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo realizar uma revisão de literatura, abordando o sistema circulatório, diagnóstico, anestesia e o tratamento cirúrgico da persistência do ducto arterioso em cães.

Abstract:
The ductus arteriosus is a vessel originated in the sixth aortic arch, which in the fetal phase connects the pulmonary artery to the aorta and, after birth, physiologically, closes in a few hours, giving rise to the arterious ligament. However, when there is no occlusion, due to a genetic defect that commonly affects dogs, it results in the persistence of the ductus arteriosus (PDA) or patent ductus arteriosus. PDA comes in two forms: classic (blood flow from the aorta to the pulmonary artery) and reverse (blood flow from the pulmonary artery to the aorta). The diagnosis is made by clinical signs and complementary exams, especially imaging. The curative treatment is surgical, only in the case of the classic PDA, with ligature of the ductus arteriosus, using specific anesthetic protocols. The present study aims to conduct a literature review, addressing the circulatory system, diagnosis, anesthesia and the surgical treatment of persistent ductus arteriosus in dogs.
