PERFIL SOCIO EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DE LOS CANDIDATOS A LA DONACIÓN DE SANGRE EN UN CENTRO DE SANGRE DE LA REGIÓN NORDESTE DE BRASIL
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo presentar la frecuencia de los candidatos a la donación de sangre y las intercurrencias que pueden surgir, utilizando como base la información del Centro de Hemoterapia de una región del Nordeste de Brasil, con datos recogidos en el período de enero a diciembre de 2019. Se trata de un estudio retrospectivo con un enfoque cuantitativo. Se evaluaron variables como el sexo, el nivel de educación, la ubicación, los candidatos aptos o no aptos y el volumen de sangre. A partir del material investigado, se elaboró una base de datos en Microsoft Excel 2016 y se analizó estadísticamente en el Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - SPSS 22.0. Se observó que de los 24.474 solicitantes de donación de sangre, el 68,5% (16.761) son hombres, mientras que el 31,5% (7.713) son mujeres. En cuanto a la ubicación de los candidatos a la donación de sangre, se observó que ambos géneros residían mayoritariamente en zonas urbanas. En cuanto al nivel de estudios de los individuos encuestados, la tasa más alta fue la de candidatos a la donación de sangre con el bachillerato completo, seguido del bachillerato incompleto, ambos con una mayor prevalencia de candidatos masculinos. La edad media del público femenino que donó sangre fue de 30,2 años, y la del masculino de 33,4 años. En relación con las intercurrencias durante la recogida, se puede comprobar que los individuos femeninos tienen un 6,3%, mientras que los masculinos sólo tienen un 3,4%. Es necesario aclarar al público sobre las condiciones necesarias para la donación de sangre, así como el estímulo del público femenino.

Abstract:
The present work aims to present the frequency of candidates for blood donation and the intercurrences that may arise, using as a basis the information from the Hemotherapy Center of a Northeast region of Brazil, with data collected in the period from January to December 2019. This is a retrospective study with a quantitative approach. Variables such as gender, education level, location, eligible or unfit candidates, and blood volume were evaluated. Based on the investigated material, a database was created in Microsoft Excel 2016 and statistically analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences - SPSS 22.0. It was observed that of the 24,474 applicants for blood donation, 68.5% (16,761) are men, while 31.5% (7,713) are women. Regarding the location of the candidates for blood donation, it was observed that both genders resided mainly in urban areas. Regarding the level of studies of the individuals surveyed, the highest rate was that of candidates for blood donation with a complete high school diploma, followed by an incomplete high school diploma, both with a higher prevalence of male candidates. The average age of the female audience that donated blood was 30.2 years, and that of the male, 33.4 years. Regarding the occurrences during collection, it can be seen that female individuals have 6.3%, while male individuals only have 3.4%. It is necessary to clarify the public about the necessary conditions for donating blood, as well as the encouragement of the female public.
