Abstract: A febrile seizure can be defined as a convulsive episode triggered by a febrile condition, occurring in children aged 6 months to 6 years, excluding other conditions. The present study aims to assess the clinical and epidemiological profile of children admitted with febrile seizures at a hospital in the municipality of Criciúma, SC. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study involving 86 patients, aged 6 months to 6 years, admitted with febrile seizures, using data collection from electronic medical records during the period from 2021 to 2023. Regarding the analyzed sociodemographic variables, the average age of the individuals was 25.78 ± 14.49 months, with 58.1% being male. As for clinical variables, upon admission, 73.3% of individuals were admitted after the febrile seizure, and among them, 64% did not present a postictal state. Simple seizures accounted for 77.9% of cases, while complex seizures represented 22.1%. Regarding etiology, 58.1% were of infectious origin, 3.5% were vaccine-related, and 38.4% had other causes. The average temperature at admission was 37.93 ± 0.95°C, with an average seizure duration of 4 minutes (0 – 30 min). Thus, it is possible to conclude that the study findings may be beneficial both for healthcare professionals, as they provide greater knowledge of the disease in the local context, and for the patients' families, as in most cases, the clinical profile is benign and self-limiting, which can help alleviate concerns regarding the condition
