PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DAS INTERNAÇÕES NUMA UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA PEDIÁTRICA DE UM HOSPITAL DO SEMIÁRIDO CEARENSE
INTRODUÇÃO: O avanço tecnológico tem ampliado cada vez mais as possibilidades de terapêuticas complexas no cuidado ao paciente critico, desse modo se faz necessário conhecer o perfil desses pacientes das Unidades de Terapias Intensivas, considerando que a partir desse conhecimento os profissionais que atuam nesses espaços podem buscar melhorias para a assistência eficaz a esse público OBJETIVO: Analisar o perfil dos pacientes internados na unidade de Terapia Intensiva Pediátrico do Hospital de Ensino no Interior do Ceará no período de 2013 a 2016. MÉTODOS: Estudo documental, descritiva e exploratória, com abordagem quantitativa. Aprovado pelo comitê de ética RESULTADOS: Evidenciou-se que a faixa etária varia entre 29 dias e 17 anos de idade, com predominância para 1 – 4 anos 11 meses e 29 dias, como faixa de maior número de internações para os anos de 2014 a 2016, predominância do sexo feminino durante os anos de 2013 a 2015, com leve diferença para o sexo masculino no ano de 2016, a maioria dos pacientes procede da microrregião de Sobral. Diagnósticos neurológicas atingindo o maior número em todo o período pesquisado, seguido dos problemas respiratórios e hematológicos. Patologias associadas aos óbitos observou-se nas taxas de mortalidade a predominância dos problemas neurológicos seguido de problemas respiratórios. CONCLUSÃO: Diante do perfil descrito possibilita-se melhorias no cuidado aos pacientes internados em UTI pediátrica.

INTRODUCTION: Technological advances have increasingly expanded the possibilities of complex therapies in critical patient care, so it is necessary to know the profile of these patients of the Intensive Therapy Units, considering that from this knowledge the professionals who work in these spaces can to seek improvements for effective assistance to this public. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the profile of patients admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Ceará Teaching Hospital in the period from 2013 to 2016. METHODS: Documentary, descriptive and exploratory study with a quantitative approach . Approved by the Ethics Committee RESULTS: It was evidenced that the age range varies between 29 days and 17 years of age, with a predominance of 1 - 4 years 11 months and 29 days, as the highest number of hospitalizations for the years 2014 to 2016, female predominance during the years 2013 to 2015, with a slight difference for males in 2016, the majority of patients come from the micro-region of Sobral. Neurological diagnoses reaching the highest number in the entire period studied, followed by respiratory and hematological problems. Pathologies associated with death were observed in the mortality rates the predominance of neurological problems followed by respiratory problems. CONCLUSION: In view of the profile described, it is possible to improve the care of patients admitted to a pediatric ICU.
