Abstract: In the last three years, covid-19 pandemic has demanded a high number of healthcare workers that shift to medium and high-complexity care. Even Primary healthcare changed to fill the needs that covid-19 created, elaborating new prevention procedures. Critical and Rational actions are needed to confront work- related illness, redefining what once was treated as a weakness of mentally ill people. Anxiety and depression rates among healthcare workers warn us about healthcare services and their assistance in this environment, transforming professional and personal matters. This study is an integrative literature review— a search using medical subject headings and finding 375 articles. Defined the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data tabulation, six studies were selected, summarized, and analyzed, showing that healthcare professionals are predominantly female, suffered from work overload, and were under illness focus. It becomes clear that the most affected professionals were in frontline care during the pandemic burden, given its elevated exposure. Nursery and medicine are the most cited professions. Within this context, the high-demand workload of healthcare professionals is broader than expected. The class councils, committees, and government bodies must support and value more by promoting a safe and healthy labor environment, fair payments and salaries, and raising awareness over mental and physical health.
