PERFIL DOS PORTADORES DE HIV/AIDS DA REGIÃO DO MÉDIO PARAÍBA/RJ: UMA REFLEXÃO SOBRE PROMOÇÃO À SAÚDE E PREVENÇÃO DA DOENÇA
A infecção pelo vírus HIV corresponde um grande desafio para a saúde pública. Entender a infecção, não só a partir de sua fisiopatologia, torna-se uma necessidade para o controle da doença. O estudo busca traçar o perfil dos portadores de HIV/aids na Região do Médio Paraíba do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, contribuindo desta forma para o entendimento da infecção nesta Região do Estado. Trata-se de estudo descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado em doze municípios situados na Região do Médio Paraíba. Foi utilizado dados extraídos das bases de dados do Departamento de Vigilância e Saúde do Ministério da Saúde, a partir dos casos de HIV/aids notificados no SINAN e declarados no SIM, observando-se recorte temporal de 1980 a 2018. O estudo demonstra que a Região possui índice elevado da infecção, comparados ao Brasil, que os homens são os mais prevalentes à infecção pelo HIV na Região, portanto as mulheres são as que mais tardiamente buscam o diagnóstico. No referente a raça, os brancos são os mais predominantes, e quanto ao grau de instrução observa-se que pessoas com menor grau de instrução são as mais acometidas. A região ainda conta com uma população jovem infectada perto dos 10% dos infectados e a transmissão vertical ainda é existente. Observa-se que na região deve-se intensificar a educação em saúde para promoção e prevenção da doença, investir na atenção a mulher com HIV, de modo a reduzir a não adesão e assim a transmissão vertical.

Abstract:
Infection with the HIV virus represents a major public health challenge. Understanding the infection, not only from its pathophysiology, becomes a necessity for the control of the disease. The study seeks to outline the profile of HIV / AIDS carriers in the Middle Paraíba Region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, thus contributing to the understanding of infection in this Region of the State. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, carried out in twelve municipalities located in the Middle Paraíba Region. Data extracted from the databases of the Department of Surveillance and Health of the Ministry of Health were used, based on the cases of HIV / AIDS reported in SINAN and declared in SIM, observing a time frame from 1980 to 2018. The study shows that the Region has a high rate of infection, compared to Brazil, that men are the most prevalent to HIV infection in the Region, therefore women are the ones who later seek diagnosis. Regarding race, whites are the most prevalent, and as for the level of education, it is observed that people with less education are the most affected. The region still has an infected young population close to 10% of those infected and vertical transmission is still in existence. It is observed that in the region, health education should be intensified to promote and prevent the disease, invest in the care of women with HIV, in order to reduce non-adherence and thus vertical transmission.
