PERFIL DE PACIENTES INTERNADOS EM UNIDADE HOSPITALAR DE CUIDADOS PALIATIVOS: UMA REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DA LITERATURA
Os cuidados paliativos são definidos como medidas que aumentam a qualidade de vida de pacientes e seus familiares que enfrentam uma doença terminal por meio da prevenção e alívio do sofrimento. O objetivo desta pesquisa é revisar na literatura o perfil de pacientes internados em unidades hospitalares de cuidados paliativos. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura. Para seu desenvolvimento adotou-se as seguintes etapas: identificação da questão norteadora; estabelecimento de critérios de inclusão e exclusão; categorização dos estudos; avaliação dos estudos incluídos; interpretação dos resultados e; apresentação da revisão. Em seus resultados, predomiram estudos realizados nos Estados Unidos, que trazem como principais receptores de cuidados paliativos indivíduos diagnosticados com neoplasias, do sexo masculino e idade avançada com prognóstico inferior ou igual a três meses. Contudo, pode-se observar que a assistência paliativa é prestada a pacientes que possuem um grande desequilíbrio biológico e que possuem um prognóstico negativo, estendendo seu sofrimento aos familiares, devendo ofertar ao cliente uma assistência holística que abranja todas as necessidades. Conclui-se que a implantação de uma assistência paliativa é de extrema relevância para indivíduos em condição de sofrimento, independentemente de seu diagnóstico clínico, porém para que tal prática seja ofertada nas instituições hospitalares faz-se necessário que disponham de profissionais preparados.

Abstract:
Palliative care is defined as measures that increase the quality of life of patients and their families facing a terminal illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering. The objective of this research is to review the literature the profile of patients admitted to hospitals for palliative care. This study deals with an integrative literature review. Where to build it was adopted the following steps for the construction of this review: identification of the research question; establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria; categorization of studies; assessment of included studies; interpretation of the results and; presentation of the review. Where its results were prevalent studies in the United States, and bring as main recipients of palliative care individuals diagnosed with cancer, male and elderly with lower prognosis than or equal to three months. However, it may be noted that palliative care is provided to patients who have a large biological imbalance and have a negative prognosis, extending their suffering to family members that care must offer the customer a holistic assistance covering all the needs of the individual. It was concluded that the implementation of palliative care is extremely important for individuals suffering condition, regardless of their clinical diagnosis, but that the practice is offered in hospitals it is necessary that the institutions have prepared professionals.
