PERFIL DAS INTOXICAÇÕES EXÓGENAS INFANTIS NOTIFICADAS EM UMA CAPITAL BRASILEIRA
Objetivou-se caracterizar o perfil epidemiológico das intoxicações exógenas em crianças. Método: trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa, em que foram analisadas Fichas de Investigação de Intoxicação Exógena, registradas nos anos de 2007 a 2015 do SINAN (Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação) de Palmas, Tocantins, Brasil. Resultados: identificou-se 723 (100%) casos de intoxicação em crianças de até 12 anos de idade, sendo pelo menos 582 (80,5%) ocorridos no ambiente doméstico, em que os agentes foram principalmente medicamentos e produtos de uso domiciliar. Conclusão: conclui-se, assim, que as crianças estão sujeitas às intoxicações. A maioria dos casos aconteceu no ambiente doméstico e, conforme a faixa etária, podem existir diferenças em relação ao tipo de substância que mais causou intoxicação.

Abstract:
The objective was to characterize the epidemiological profile of exogenous intoxications in children. Method: this is a descriptive study, with a quantitative approach, in which Exogenous Intoxication Investigation Forms were analyzed, registered in the years 2007 to 2015 of the SINAN (Information System for Notifiable Diseases) in Palmas, Tocantins, Brazil. Results: 723 (100%) cases of intoxication were identified in children up to 12 years of age, with at least 582 (80.5%) occurring in the domestic environment, in which the agents were mainly medicines and household products. Conclusion: it follows, therefore, that children are subject to intoxications. Most cases occurred in the domestic environment and, depending on the age group, there may be differences in relation to the type of substance that most caused poisoning.
