PERCEPÇÃO DOS PESCADORES PROFISSIONAIS ARTESANAIS SOBRE O DECLÍNIO NA CAPTURA DO PEIXE MATRINXÃ NO RIO TELES PIRES, BACIA DO TAPAJÓS
Na região norte do Estado de Mato Grosso, o peixe matrinxã é uma das espécies mais consumidas, sendo muito importante para a pesca profissional artesanal e esportiva. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar, com entrevistas entre os pescadores profissionais artesanais, se houve um declínio na captura do peixe matrinxã. Foram feitas entrevistas utilizando questionários semiestruturados, durante os meses de setembro a novembro de 2017, com um universo amostral de 51 pescadores profissionais artesanais que atuam no Rio Teles Pires próximo ao município de Sinop. Dentre os entrevistados, 94% responderam que estão encontrando dificuldades em capturar o matrinxã e que isso ocorre desde 2013. Com os dados das capturas de aproximadamente 10 anos atrás e capturas atuais de matrinxã, obteve-se um percentual médio de 82% de queda na captura. Segundo a percepção dos pescadores, o declínio na captura de matrinxãs se deve à construção de UHEs, à pesca predatória e ao uso de agrotóxicos em áreas próximas ao Rio Teles Pires. Concluímos que as entrevistas com os pescadores profissionais artesanais que atuam no rio Teles Pires no município de Sinop fornecem importantes informações diante da notada queda do estoque pesqueiro do peixe matrinxã. Esse estudo sugere que o declínio, bem como a população de matrinxã merecem ser estudados, unindo tanto informações científicas quanto aquelas fornecidas por meio do conhecimento local dos pescadores.

Abstract:
In the northern region of the state of Mato Grosso, matrinxã fish is one of the most consumed species, being very importante for professional artisanal and sportive fishing. The aim of this study was to investigate, with interviews among professional artisanal fishermen, if there was a decline in the catch of matrinxã fish. Interviews were conducted using semi-structured questionnaires, from september to november 2017, with a sample universe of 51 artisanal professional fishermen who work on the Teles Pires river near the municipality of Sinop. Among the interviewees, 94% responded that they are finding it difficult to capture matrinxã and that this has been happening since 2013. With catch data from approximately 10 years ago and current matrinxã catches, an average percentage of 82% drop in catch was obtained. According to the fishermen's perception, the decline in the capture of matrinxã is due to the construction of UHEs, overfishing and the use of pesticides in areas close to the Teles Pires river. Thus, it can be concluded that the interviews with professional artisanal fishermen who work on the Teles Pires river in the municipality of Sinop provide important information in the face of the noticeable decrease in the matrinxã fish stocks. This study suggests that the decline, as well as the matrinxã population, deserves to be studied, combining both scientific information and the provided through local knowledge of fishermen.
