PERCEPÇÃO AMBIENTAL DE ALUNOS DO ENSINO FUNDAMENTAL DE UMA ESCOLA PÚBLICA DE MIRASSOL D’OESTE – MT
O estudo da percepção ambiental é
importante para compreender as inter-relações
existentes entre o indivíduo e o ambiente no
qual vive. Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo analisar a
percepção ambiental dos alunos do último ano do ensino
fundamental de uma escola pública de Mirassol d’Oeste
– MT. A pesquisa qualitativa, com análise descritiva, foi
realizada na Escola Estadual 12 de Outubro em Mirassol
d’Oeste – MT, com a aplicação de questionário estruturado
aos alunos no 9º ano do ensino fundamental. A maioria
dos alunos tem dificuldade em perceber-se como
parte integrante do meio e atribui a definição do
termo meio ambiente apenas aos seres vivos ou
ao lugar onde vivem, sem perceberem as interrelações
existentes. Uma pequena parcela dos
alunos, aparentemente, não se preocupa com
a conservação do meio ambiente, afirmando
não fazer nada pela conservação, mas afirmam
que gostariam de fazer algo para ajudar. A
maioria dos alunos tem uma percepção clara
dos problemas ambientais, atribuindo suas
causas à destruição causada pelo próprio
ser humano. Portanto, faz-se necessário a
inserção de atividades complementares de
educação ambiental na escola para aprimorar
o conhecimento dos alunos sobre o assunto, e
de fato, eles perceberem o quão importante é a
conservação do meio ambiente.

Abstract:
A study about environmental
perception is important to understand the actual
interrelations between the subjects and the
environment where they live. This research
aimed to analyze the environmental perception
of students in the last year of middle school (k-
8) in a public school in the county of Mirassol
d’Oeste (MT). The qualitative research with
descriptive statistics took place at the Escola
Estadual 12 de Outubro (12 de Outubro
Elementary-middle School) in Mirassol d’Oeste
(MT), through the application of a structured
questionnaire to the students in the 9th year of
elementary school. Most students find it difficult
to recognize themselves as a constitutive part
of the environment and only qualify by the term
environment the living beings or the place where

they live in, without realizing the actual interrelationships. A small portion of students
seems to not be concerned about preserving the environment, claiming they do nothing
about preservation, but they affirm they would like to do something to help. Most
students have a clear perception of environmental problems, attributing their causes
to the own hazardous human beings’ actions. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce
secondary activities about Environmental Education at school to improve the students’
knowledge about the subject and, indeed, to realize how important is the preservation
of the environment.
