Abstract: In Brazil, Conservation Units (UCs) are the most widespread form of protection, which stand out as a strategy to promote the maintenance of natural spaces. The Catimbau National Park is one of the most important Conservation Units in Brazil, in which it presents an invaluable biological, cultural and archaeological richness. The region's fauna presents a significant number of species, including endemic and endangered species. With the aim of encouraging and promoting proper management of the Caatinga and, consequently, conservation, expanding knowledge of the area belonging to the Caatinga biome and the faunal importance of PARNA Catimbau, this work aims to propose actions and strategies aimed at the fauna , which may help in the preparation of the future management plan for the area. it is necessary to create a management plan that reflects on its conservation and on a better relationship between communities and local fauna. Some of the strategies proposed in this work that can be proposed are incentives ranging from conversation circles, lectures, workshops, production of informative material, photo competition, involvement of schools, identification of the socio-economic potential of fauna to the creation of a museum. Such proposals are primarily aimed at the inclusion of communities, since the population belonging to the Park is one of the main pillars for promoting the conservation of the local fauna, thus promoting discussion and greater knowledge about the resources to the local population is an important tool in management plans. being able to contemplate more controversial themes, such as local hunting. Despite being quite neglected, the Caatinga provides opportunities, information and good lessons for its conservation to be successful among human populations that are directly and indirectly dependent on its natural resources. In addition, included in socio-ecological contexts, the Caatinga has few integral protection units in its favor, which further highlights the need for the elaboration and execution of considerable management plans, in order to guarantee the execution of the proposed objectives.
