Abstract: The text highlights that the process of reformulating and improving the Internal School Regulations (RIE) is not limited to just an administrative formality, but is essential to promote autonomy and democratic management in municipal schools affiliated with the Military Police of Bahia. By establishing clear and cohesive guidelines, the RIE not only guarantees the order and proper functioning of the institution, but also strengthens the bonds of collaboration and participation between all actors involved in the educational process. The integration of the Military Police in this context is highlighted as a significant partnership for promoting a safe and civil school environment, contributing to forming active and engaged citizens in their communities. Thus, the reformulation and improvement of the RIE represents an essential step towards consolidating quality education, based on participation, dialogue and respect for the plurality of knowledge and experiences, in addition to being a collaborative process aimed at ensuring a safe educational environment, inclusive and aligned with the principles of contemporary education. Therefore, this article discusses the importance of this document; deals with the legal bases that must be considered when constructing the RIE; and suggests important steps for its elaboration or re-elaboration.
