Objective: It seeks to identify and analyze the main classes of drugs used in the pharmacological management of cardiorespiratory arrest (CPA) in adult patients, including their mechanisms of action, clinical indications and evidence of efficacy. Methodology: The research uses techniques of a bibliographic review, that is, a study developed from material already prepared in the Scielo and Lilacs databases between the years 2019 to 2024. Results: Fifty academic articles were researched, reduced in the end to 20, in the months of January to november 2024, in which a table was prepared with summaries of these studies, with the title, name of the author and year of publication. Discussions: It is essential that the health professional has knowledge of the pharmacological properties of these substances in order to understand their effects after administration and possible complications. The medications used for this treatment are adrenaline, vasopressin, amiodarone and lidocaine. Conclusion: This study highlighted the relevance of health professionals' knowledge about these medications mentioned in the approach, knowing the correct dosage for application, as well as their effectiveness and the side effects that each one can have on the patient, taking into account the chance of survival of this patient with the correct treatment.
