Abstract: Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent neoplasms among women and has a high mortality rate in Brazil, often associated with late diagnosis. Mastectomy, although necessary in many cases, causes significant physical and psychosocial repercussions, including pain, functional limitations, reduced shoulder mobility, and changes in self-esteem. In this context, Onco-Functional Physiotherapy plays a fundamental role in the rehabilitation process, acting preventively and therapeutically to minimize complications and promote functional recovery and improved quality of life through individualized interventions. Objective: To evaluate the role of Physical Therapy in the health management of mastectomized women, aiming to establish a basis for understanding the insertion, performance, and practice of physical therapists in the care network focused on this population. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review, conducted through searches in the PubMed, SciELO, BVS, PEDro, and Cochrane databases, using the descriptors Mastectomy AND (Physical Therapy OR Physiotherapy). Complete studies published between 2019 and 2024 that addressed the role of physical therapists in the care of women who have undergone mastectomy were included. After screening according to the PRISMA flowchart, 13 articles were selected and analyzed qualitatively. Results: The studies demonstrated that physical therapy interventions, especially therapeutic exercises and scapular strengthening, contribute to pain reduction, improved shoulder function, and increased quality of life after mastectomy. In addition, complete decongestive therapy and the use of technologies such as virtual reality have proven to be effective and safe strategies in the rehabilitation process. Conclusion: Physical therapy is essential in the rehabilitation of mastectomy patients, promoting functional recovery, pain relief, and improved quality of life, in addition to promoting comprehensive care and the physical, social, and emotional reintegration of these patients.
