Abstract:
This paper has as objective to characterize the behavioral patterns of a siberian husky dog, in a domestic place, without human interference, using the observation method. An ethogram was constructed, classifying the dog's behavior into five categories: states, solitary, social/friendly, elimination/marking and social/agonistic. The conducts were identified for the dog "Nero": lying down, seated, to drink, to eat, to scratch, to howl, to yawn, to sniff the ground, to laze, to shake, to sniff, invitation to play, to hunt rodents, submission, on alert, to urinat, to urinat over, to defecat, to invest, to growl, to bark and to bite. It was found that the behaviors exhibited by "Nero" continue to contradict the breed standards in some situations.
