OS RIBEIRINHOS DO RIO MAPUÁ, ARQUIPÉLAGO DE MARAJÓ: MODOS DE VIDA, COSMOLOGIA, PRÁTICAS MATERIAIS E SIMBÓLICAS
O texto preocupa-se em discutir os modos de vida, cosmologia e saberes dos povos ribeirinhos do rio Mapuá, arquipélago de Marajó, PA. Este grupo social por meio da tradição oral ressignifica cotidianamente suas práticas materiais e sociais na relação com o rio, a floresta, o meio ambiente varzeiro, as diferentes pessoas e a materialidade. Neste empreendimento, na trilha da História Oral procuro saber o que os ribeirinhos narram sobre as práticas materiais, a experiência, a cosmologia e os saberes culturalmente herdados. As narrativas orais me conduziram a escuta e análise das memórias, permitindo-me uma melhor compreensão e contextualização das informações. Combinando dados empíricos e base teórica demonstro ser o modo de vida dos ribeirinhos historicamente marcado pelas práticas tradicionais reeditadas cotidianamente nas bordas da racionalidade científica eurocêntrica. É um processo produzido e enraizado com a especificidade da várzea, o ritmo das águas, os saberes herdados e ressignificados e pelos laços de parentesco e vizinhança. Nesse movimento o rio, a floresta e a várzea são transformados em lugares comuns, ambientes sínteses da cultura e base de reprodução material dos ribeirinhos. Daí afirmar que o modo de vida desse grupo é configurado pela dinâmica cosmológica, ambiental e material.

Abstract:
The text is concerned with discussing the ways of life, cosmology and knowledge of the riverside peoples of the Mapuá River, archipelago of Marajó, PA. This social group, through oral tradition, daily re-signifies it’s material and social practices in relation to the river, the forest, the varzeiro environment, the different people and materiality. In this enterprise, on the trail of Oral History I try to know what the riverside people narrate about material practices, experience, cosmology and culturally inherited knowledge. The oral narratives led me to listen and analyze the memories, allowing me to better understand and contextualize the information. Combining empirical data and theoretical basis, I demonstrate that the riverside inhabitants' way of life historically been marked by traditional practices reedited daily on the edges of Eurocentric scientific rationality. It is a process produced and rooted with the specificity of the floodplain, the rhythm of the waters, the inherited and reframed knowledge and the ties of kinship and neighborhood. In this movement, the river, the forest and the floodplain are transformed into common places, synthesis environments of culture and the base of material reproduction of riverside dwellers. Hence, to affirm that the way of life of this group configured by the cosmological, environmental and material dynamics.
