OS REFERENCIAIS TEÓRICO-METODOLÓGICOS NOS PROGRAMAS DE DOUTORADO BRASILEIROS NA ÁREA DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA
Em uma tese, a descrição clara e objetiva de seu embasamento
teórico-metodológico fundamenta e robustece seus resultados. Este estudo
objetivou identificar e discutir o emprego dos referenciais teórico-metodológicos
das teses na área da Educação Física. Das 492 teses utilizadas, 342 tinham
abordagem quantitativa (69,5%), 120 qualitativa (24,4%) e outras (6,2%); 440
não apresentaram referencial (89,4%), 30 apresentaram referencial
teórico (6,1%) e 22 teórico-metodológico (4,5%), somando 52 estudos com
referencial explicitado (10,6%). Dos referenciais Teórico-metodológicos
emergiram duas categorias: 1- “O corpo-sujeito, o outro e o meio como objetos
do fenômeno” e 2- “As políticas e relações sociais como prisma do fenômeno”.
Além da predominância de abordagens quantitavas, dos estudos qualitativos
apenas 1/3 referenciaram sua abordagem, revelando necessidade de maior
rigor metodológico nos estudos qualitativos na área. O volume de teses que
emergiram da primeira categoria, revela uma vocação natural da área de
Educação Física para a compreensão do fenômeno do corpo-sujeito, do outro e
do meio em detrimento do político social.

Abstract:
In a thesis, the clear and objective description of its theoretical-
methodological foundation bases and strengthens its results. This study aimed
to identify and discuss the employment of the theoretical-methodological
references of theses in the field of physical education. Of the 492 theses used,
342 had quantitative approach (69,5%), 120 qualitative (24,4%) and
others (6.2%); 440 did not present reference (89,4%), 30 presented theoretical
reference (6.1%) and 22 theoretical-methodological (4.5%), adding 52 studies
with Explicit reference (10.6%). Of the theoretical-methodological references
emerged two categories: 1- "The body-subject, the other and the medium as
objects of the phenomenon" and 2- "The politics and social relations as prism of the phenomenon". In addition to the predominance of quantitaves approaches,
the qualitative studies only 1/3 referenced their approach, revealing the need for
greater methodological rigour in the qualitative studies in the area. The volume
of theses that emerged from first category, reveals a natural vocation of the
area of physical education for the understanding of the phenomenon of the
body-subject, the other and the environment to the detriment of the social
politician. -
