OS PRIMEIROS PASSOS DO MUSEU DE GEOCIÊNCIAS DA UNIVERSIDADE FEDERAL DE RORAIMA (MuGEO): HISTÓRICO E ACERVO
Os museus podem e devem ser ditos
como lugares de reprodução e que resguardam
objetos que demonstram algum tipo de cultura
ou que contem parte da história. Chamar
atenção sobre a existência de um museu para
a sociedade não é tarefa fácil, ainda mais
quando nos deparamos com poucas ou quase
nenhuma informação acerca daquilo que se
pretender expor. Logo, transformar o Museu
de Geociências da Universidade Federal de
Roraima em um museu de referência no estado
de Roraima, está sendo um grande desafio, mas
a construção da ideia de aproximar os alunos
à ciência é algo memorável. A organização
sistemática do acervo de minerais, rochas e
fósseis, e criação de um banco de dados do
museu, além de disseminar informações sobre o
curso de Geologia entre crianças, adolescentes
e adultos do Estado, aproximará a população
roraimense da universidade, informando a
comunidade a partir de exposições de mostras
permanentes e não permanentes sobre a
importância do museu e da mineralogia para a
sociedade.

Abstract:
Museums can be and should be
said as places for reproduction of the history by
means of objects that possesses some attached
culture. The necessary attention of the society
to the existence of a museum at any place is not
an easy task, yet there is little or no information
is available about what is exposed. So, the
transformation of the Museum of Geosciences
of the Federal University at the State of Roraima
into a real museum has been a challenge in
which the realize for linking student and science
is the reward. The systematic organization of the
collection of minerals, rocks and fossils, and the
creation of a database of this museum will be a
point of connection to the population of the State
of Roraima. The museum will diffuse information
about Geology and other Earth sciences to
the people, leading to a most closed relation
between them and the Federal University at the
State of Roraima. The means to reach these
objectives will be the exposition of permanent and not permanent collections.
