Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly transformed the global healthcare landscape, significantly affecting frontline workers. This chapter examines the multidimensional impacts of the crisis on these workers, categorizing them into physical, psychological, social, and career aspects. Physically, constant exposure to the virus, combined with work overload and the initial lack of protective equipment, has worsened pre-existing health conditions and created new challenges. Psychologically, fear, social isolation, and increased disorders such as anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress were prevalent. Socially, stigmatization and family separation have reinforced the alienation experienced by many professionals, while tensions within teams have hindered cohesion in the workplace. In terms of careers, the pandemic has led to interruptions in training programs, increased employee turnover, and reflections on working conditions. The analysis highlights the urgent need for public policies and organizational interventions that promote the comprehensive well-being of these workers. Measures such as psychological support programs, more robust protection protocols, and social recognition strategies emerge as essential tools to mitigate the adverse effects of the pandemic. It is concluded that strengthening support for health professionals is essential not only to deal with current challenges, but also to prepare health systems for future crises.
