OS IMPACTO DAS TELAS NO DESENVOLVIMENTO NEUROPSICOMOTOR INFANTIL: revisão integrativa

• Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Social media, commonly known as media, currently plays a prominent role in the lives of children and adolescents, who spend several hours a day using television, video games or browsing various tabs on the internet. Recognizing development as the result of interaction with the environment, it becomes evident that excessive exposure of children to these technologies can cause harm to their neuropsychomotor development, therefore the objective of this study is to map evidence in the literature in relation to the impact caused by their use Excessive use of social media in children's neuropsychomotor development. METHOD: This is an integrative review of the literature. Data collection was carried out in the LILACS, SCIELO and MEDLINE databases from March to April 2024, using a combination of keywords: child development, child health and social media, crossed using the Boolean operator AND. A total of 562 articles were obtained and after filtering the articles that had full text available, published in the last five years, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, a total of 13 articles met the proposed theme. RESULTS: The consequences of screen exposure on neuropsychomotor development results may vary according to age, influencing language delay, poor sleep quality, the development of anxiety and depression, and inattention problems. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: In view of this, it is clear that abusive use by children has major consequences with regard to the children's learning process, resulting mainly in delays in neuropsychomotor development.
