OS FATORES NATURAIS, O USO, A CHUVA E A ENCHENTE NO RIO VERMELHO NA CIDADE DE GOIÁS-GO EM 2001
No ano de 2001 ocorreu no curso
do Rio Vermelho, na cidade de Goiás/GO, uma
enchente que teve repercussão nacional por
sua grandeza e por esta cidade ser Patrimônio
Histórico Mundial. Este estudo faz uma análise
integrada da relação entre a enchente e os
fatores naturais (geologia, geomorfologia,
solos e rede de drenagem), biótico (uso da
terra de 2000) e dados do parâmetro climático
precipitação. Os resultados revelam que os
fatores naturais são favoráveis a ocorrência
de enchentes, além do que, o volume de
precipitação na véspera da ocorrência foi
superior a média mensal, chegando a 80 mm
no dia da enchente. Observou-se também
que a substituição da vegetação natural por
pastagens e cultura contribui para potencializar
a ocorrência de enchentes no curso do Rio
Vermelho.

Abstract:
In 2001 it occurred in the course
of the Rio Vermelho in the city of Goiás/GO,
a flood that had national repercussions for his
greatness and this city is World Heritage. This
study is an integrated analysis of the relationship
between the flood and natural factors (geology,
geomorphology, soils and drainage network),
biotic (using 2000 land) and data of the climate
parameter precipitation. The results show that
natural factors favor the occurrence of floods, in
addition to the volume of rainfall the day before
the occurrence was higher than the monthly
average, reaching 80 mm on the day of the
flood. It was also noted that the replacement
of natural vegetation by pasture and culture
helps to enhance the occurrence of floods in the
course of the Rio Vermelho.
