OS EVENTOS DE INUNDAÇÕES NA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO ITABAPOANA – RIO DE JANEIRO, BRASIL.
O objetivo deste trabalho é
inventariar episódios de inundações nos
municípios que integram a bacia hidrográfica
do rio Itabapoana, na região hidrográfica IX do
Rio de Janeiro. O trabalho foi desenvolvido por
meio de pesquisa bibliográfica em documentos
oficiais da Defesa Civil, sobretudo, no Sistema
Integrado de Informações Sobre Desastres -
S2ID. Os dados contidos nos formulários de
Notificação Preliminar de Desastre – NOPRED
e de Avaliação de Danos – AVADAN contidos no
Sistema S2ID, apontam que os municípios de
Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, Porciúncula, Varree-Sai, Campos dos Goytacazes e São Francisco
do Itabapoana são atingidos periodicamente por
episódios de inundação tanto em suas áreas
urbanas quanto nas suas áreas rurais. Sugerese que o poder público, mormente o municipal
e a sociedade civil organizada possa utilizar-se
dos dados inventariados para a realização do
reordenamento territorial e construção de obras
de engenharia. Para dirimir problemas inerentes
aos eventos de inundações é necessário criar
instrumentos de gestão e construir obras de
engenharia a fim de mitigar os efeitos das
inundações.

Abstract:
The objective of this work is to
inventory flood episodes in the municipalities
that are part of the Itabapoana river basin, in
the IX hydrographic region of Rio de Janeiro.
The work was developed through bibliographic
research in official documents of Civil Defense,
especially in the Integrated Information System
on Disasters - S2ID. The data contained in the
Preliminary Disaster Notification (NOPRED)
and Damage Assessment (AVADAN) forms
contained in the S2ID System indicate that the
municipalities of Bom Jesus do Itabapoana,
Porciúncula, Varre-e-Sai, Campos dos
Goytacazes and São Francisco do Itabapoana
are periodically affected by flood events both in
their urban areas and in their rural areas. It is suggested that the public power, especially
the municipal and organized civil society can be used of the inventoried data for the
accomplishment of the territorial reordering and construction of engineering works. To
solve problems inherent in flood events it is necessary to create management tools and
construct engineering works to mitigate the effects of floods.
