OS BENEFÍCIOS DE UMA HORTA COMUNITÁRIA EM UMA UNIDADE ESCOLAR MUNICIPAL NO ESTADO DO PIAUÍ: UM OLHAR DE SUSTENTABILIDADE E CIDADANIA

A horta comunitária é um processo

que permite o ensino e a aprendizagem entre

todos os envolvidos, a conscientização do

trabalho comunitário e o exercício da cidadania.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi implantar uma

horta comunitária em uma unidade escolar no

município de Miguel Alves – Piauí, e discutir

com o grupo de alunos e professores envolvidos

questões como sustentabilidade e cidadania. A

intervenção foi realizada de forma qualitativa

e transversal, em uma comunidade escolar

apenas. Depois de 40 dias, as hortaliças como

cebolinha, coentro e pimenta estavam prontas

para colheita, o que facilitou o trabalho das

merendeiras no preparo da merenda escolar,

inclusive eliminando o gasto financeiro delas,

já que compravam temperos do próprio bolso

para a preparação da merenda. A implantação

desta horta trouxe um resgate de cidadania

para a comunidade escolar, ajudou a estreitar

os laços da comunidade com a escola.

Abstract:
The community garden is a

process that allows teaching and learning among

all involved, awareness of community work and

the exercise of citizenship. The objective of

this work was to establish a community garden

in a school unit in the municipality of Miguel

Alves - Piauí, and discuss with the group of

students and teachers involved issues such as sustainability and citizenship. The intervention carried out in a qualitative and

transversal way, in a school community only. After 40 days, the vegetables such as

chives, coriander and pepper were ready for harvest, which facilitated the work of the

lunch boxes in the preparation of school meals, including eliminating their financial

expenses, since they bought seasonings from their own pocket for the preparation of

the meal. The implementation of this garden brought a redemption of citizenship to the

school community, helped to strengthen the bonds of the community with the school.
