Abstract: The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus has generated global concern, causing serious and serious problems regarding the health of all humanity. The literature review was carried out in the LILACS and Pubmed databases. The inclusion criteria were: articles published in journals indexed in the aforementioned databases, works available in full, published in Portuguese, English or Spanish. Ozone therapy can be considered a viable ally in Covid-19 treatment, as it has positive systemic effects. In order to combat the covid-19 virus, it carried out an experiment with ozone, where ozone gas was used together with oxygen and applied systemically. Ozone therapy was implemented in the Unified Health System (SUS), on December 9, 2021 by the Chamber of Deputies, where it is ensured by law no. Law no. 9.001/17, which states that the therapy is authorized in throughout the national territory as a complementary therapy. It is concluded that, although there is no discovery regarding a specific treatment for patients who have contracted Covid-19, there is evidence based on tests carried out on patients infected by the virus, that therapy carried out with ozone gas has direct antiviral effects.
