OS ASPECTOS DA URBANIZAÇÃO DE MURIAÉ-MG
Compreendendo a importância de se
entender as características sobre a urbanização
nos mais variados locais do país no passar dos
anos. O presente trabalho busca debater as
políticas de consolidação territorial para o início
de desenvolvimento urbano de São Paulo do
Muriahé (atual Muriaé), freguesia localizada
no sertão leste da Zona da Mata mineira. Essa
regiãocomeça a receber seus primeiros sinais de
povoamento entre o final do século XVIII e início
do século XIX, com a influência de políticas
indigenistas, ocorridas no início do período
analisado, além da concessão de privilégios,
isenções fiscais e doação de sesmarias.
Procuraremos entender as mudanças ocorridas
nesse espaço geográfico, evidenciando ainda
mais a interdisciplinaridade entre Geografia e
História na busca de uma reflexão maior sobre
as relações sócio-espaciais ocorridas no passar
dos anos.

Abstract:
Understanding the importance of
understanding the characteristics of urbanization
in the most varied places of the country over
the years. The present work seeks to discuss
the policies of territorial consolidation for the
beginning of urban development of São Paulo
do Muriahé (present Muriaé), parish located
in the sertão east of Zona da Mata mining.
This region began to receive its first signs of
settlement between the late eighteenth and
early nineteenth century, with the influence of
indigenist policies, occurred at the beginning
of the period analyzed, besides the granting
of privileges, tax exemptions and donation
of sesmarias. We will try to understand the
changes that have taken place in the geographic
space, showing even more the interdisciplinarity
between Geography and History in the search
for an even greater reflection on the socio-spatial
relations that have occurred over the years.
