Abstract: This research presents a brief study on "Students and the difficulty in learning Mathematics. Where is the problem? In the teacher, in teaching or in the student?”. Since Mathematics is the science that studies, by deductive method, abstract objects (numbers, figures, functions) and the relationships between them, it is in educational practice the process by which knowledge and experiences accumulated by the student in everyday life are assimilated. The objective was to examine the difficulties that students have in learning Mathematics. The method used was the case study, through field research through questionnaires applied to students and teachers and analyzes in the qualitative approach. After carrying out the data analysis, as a complement to the responses of the interviewed teachers, it is concluded, based on the questions answered by the students, that both agree that playfulness should be part of school life. And that can be experienced and interpreted in situations of everyday life, such as returning change, applying a discount, calculating the time of something, thus improving the didactics - where most of the problem is concentrated - of Mathematics classes, making it more attractive.
