Abstract:
In Colombia, tourism has evolved considerably, especially after facing challenges related to the internal conflict. The country has begun to implement public policies that promote ecotourism and the sustainable use of natural resources, with the aim of generating a positive impact on local communities and improving their quality of life. These efforts are aligned with the creation of tourist corridors that integrate various regions, promoting the cultural and natural diversity of the country.
As mentioned, the establishment of public policies in the tourism sector is crucial. These policies must be designed in a coherent and transparent manner, seeking a balance between economic, social and environmental interests. The literature in this area is still limited in Colombia, which suggests the need to continue researching and developing solid regulatory frameworks that support sustainable and equitable tourism.
The development of tourism in Palmira must be an inclusive and sustainable process, where the local community plays a leading role. With the implementation of these strategic guidelines, it is expected that the municipality will not only increase its tourist appeal, but also improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, respect their culture and protect their natural environment. Collaboration between the different actors will be key to the success of this public policy in the period 2022-2032.
