Onde está o meu aluno? Reflexões sobre tecnologias e a educação superior no Brasil
O presente trabalho discute o aumento sistemático das matrículas de estudantes da educação superior na modalidade de ensino a distância (EAD), sua relação com os avanços tecnológicos recentes e as consequências para o trabalho docente. Baseado nos dados do Censo da Educação Superior de 2014 a 2018, observa-se um decrescimento gradual das matrículas em cursos superiores na modalidade presencial e um aumento substancial nas matrículas dos cursos superiores na modalidade a distância. Flexibilidade de tempo, mensalidades mais atrativas e necessidade de inserção no mercado de trabalho são fatores que contribuem para essa mudança. Analisa-se, a partir desta perspectiva, a precarização da atividade docente na figura do tutor, ao mesmo tempo que o discurso de modernização legitima as ferramentas tecnológicas como instrumentos indispensáveis em tempos de inovação. Afinal, estamos diante de uma mudança de paradigma para a educação superior?

Abstract:
This paper discusses the systematic increase in the enrollment of students of higher education in the distance learning modality (DLM), its relationship with recent technological advances and the consequences for teaching work. Based on data from the Higher Education Census from 2014 to 2018, there is a gradual decrease in enrollment in higher education courses in the face-to-face mode and a substantial increase in enrollment in higher education courses in the distance mode. Time flexibility, more attractive monthly fees and the need to enter the labor market are factors that contribute to this change. From this perspective, the precariousness of teaching activity in the figure of the tutor is analyzed, at the same time that the discourse of modernization legitimizes technological tools as indispensable instruments in these innovation times. After all, are we facing a paradigm shift for higher education?
