OFTALMOLOGIA EM FOCO: CASOS OFTALMOLÓGICOS EM ANIMAIS DE COMPANHIA DO HOSPITAL VETERINÁRIO DA UFG – REGIONAL JATAÍ
A Oftalmologia Veterinária é uma das áreas de crescimento dentre as especialidades da Medicina Veterinária, onde animais de estimação adquirem cada vez maior importância no seio familiar. Inúmeras enfermidades acometem o bulbo do olho e anexos de cães e gatos. Sendo assim, é de suma importância o diagnóstico precoce e preciso. O tratamento correto e imediato, melhora o prognóstico e diminui sequelas. O relato da casuística proporciona ao clinico maior afinidade com afecções prevalentes na rotina, facilitando o emprego de terapêuticas eficazes. Assim, o presente estudo relata as diferentes afecções oculares que acometem os animais da região de Jataí, Goiás, o qual identificou que a ceratoconjuntivite seca, a uveíte, a úlcera de córnea e a ceratite são afecções mais freqüentemente diagnosticadas no Serviço de Oftalmologia Veterinária no Hospital Veterinário da UFG, em Jataí, GO.

Abstract:
Veterinary Ophthalmology is one of the areas of growth among Veterinary Medicine specialties, where pets become increasingly important in the family. Numerous diseases affect the eye bulb and attachments of dogs and cats. Therefore, early and accurate diagnosis is of paramount importance. Correct and immediate treatment improves prognosis and decreases sequelae. The case report gives the clinician greater affinity with conditions that are prevalent in the routine, facilitating the use of effective therapies. Thus, the present study reports on the different ocular conditions affecting the animals of the Jataí region, Goiás, which identified that dry keratoconjunctivitis, uveitis, corneal ulcer and keratitis are affections most frequently diagnosed at the Veterinary Ophthalmology Service at Veterinary Hospital of UFG, in Jataí, GO.
