OCUPAÇÃO E POVOAMENTO DO PIAUÍ

Este artigo propõe uma reflexão sobre a importância da valorização da história local do Piauí como ferramenta essencial para o fortalecimento da identidade cultural e construção do pertencimento social. A partir de percursos realizados por trilhas históricas e culturais do estado, a pesquisa evidencia como o Piauí, apesar de sua riqueza histórica, permanece amplamente desconhecido pela própria população, mesmo no século XXI. Com base em estudos anteriores e investigações atuais, o trabalho destaca a necessidade de romper com a invisibilidade histórica do estado, propondo uma abordagem que transcende os limites acadêmicos e contribui para a formação de um legado coletivo. Ao documentar e divulgar a história piauiense, abre-se espaço para a ampliação das fontes bibliográficas disponíveis, promovendo a democratização do conhecimento e o fortalecimento da historiografia brasileira.

  • Abstract: This article proposes a reflection on the importance of valuing the local history of Piauí as an essential tool for strengthening cultural identity and fostering a sense of social belonging. Based on journeys through historical and cultural trails of the state, the research highlights how Piauí, despite its rich historical heritage, remains largely unknown to its own population, even in the 21st century. Drawing on previous studies and current investigations, the work emphasizes the need to break the historical invisibility of the state, proposing an approach that transcends academic boundaries and contributes to the construction of a collective legacy. By documenting and disseminating the history of Piauí, this study opens the way for the expansion of available bibliographic sources, promoting the democratization of knowledge and strengthening Brazilian historiography.
