OCORRÊNCIA DE DIABETES MELLITUS NA ESF INCONFIDÊNCIA, MURIAÉ, MINAS GERAIS: O COMPONENTE EMOCIONAL DAS DOENÇAS CRÔNICAS E ESTRATÉGIAS ADOTADAS
O Diabetes Mellitus é uma doença crônica que ocasiona instabilidade física e emocional, e, progressivamente, está se tornando um grave problema de saúde pública mundial. Frente a esse cenário, o presente estudo objetivou analisar os dados dos 3050 usuários da Estratégia de Saúde da Família (ESF) Inconfidência, onde constam 122 diabetopatas (4%), prevalência inferior à observada no Brasil (5,6 a 20%). Foi realizado também um estudo a respeito das atividades realizadas pelos pacientes diabéticos, e estratégias adotadas pela ESF. As medidas se mostraram eficientes no suporte ao paciente diabético, uma vez que proporcionam redução da não aderência ao tratamento, e dos agravos e melhora do prognóstico.

Abstract:
Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that causes physical and emotional instability, and is progressively becoming a serious public health problem worldwide. Faced with this scenario, the present study aimed to analyze the data of the 3050 users of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) Inconfidência, which includes 122 diabetics (4%), a prevalence lower than that observed in Brazil (5.6 to 20%). A study was also carried out regarding the activities carried out by diabetic patients, and strategies adopted by the FHS. The measures proved to be efficient in supporting the diabetic patient, since they provide a reduction in non-adherence to treatment, and in the aggravations and improvement of the prognosis.
