OCLUSÃO DE APÊNDICE ATRIAL ESQUERDO NA FIBRILAÇÃO ATRIAL PERMANENTE: UMA ALTERNATIVA À ANTICOAGULAÇÃO.
A Fibrilação Atrial (FA) é a arritmia cardíaca mais frequente, caracterizada por alterações eletrofisiológicas e anatômicas atriais. Tais condições fisiopatológicas predispõem à trombogênese, que ocorre predominantemente no apêndice atrial esquerdo (AAE). Nesse contexto, desenvolveram-se técnicas para ocluir o AAE utilizando próteses específicas, com resultados promissores e não inferiores à anticoagulação oral (ACO), padrão ouro na prevenção dos eventos tromboembólicos. O presente relato refere-se a uma paciente de 73 anos, do sexo feminino, portadora de FA permanente com restrição à ACO, admitida no serviço Pronto Socorro Cardiológico Universitário de Pernambuco - Prof. Luiz Tavares (PROCAPE) e submetida à oclusão percutânea do AAE, efetivada com sucesso.

Abstract:
Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most frequent cardiac arrhythmia, characterized by electrophysiology and anatomy changes of the atria. These conditions predispose to thrombogenesis, which occurs predominantly in the Left Atrial Appendage (LAA). In this context, techniques were developed to occlude LAA using specific devices, with promising results, not inferior to oral anticoagulation (OAC), the current gold standard in prevention of thromboembolic events. The present report refers to a 73 year-old female patient, with permanent AF, and restriction to OAC, who was admitted to the Pronto Socorro Cardiológico Prof. Luiz Tavares of University of Pernambuco (PROCAPE) and submitted to a successful percutaneous LAA occlusion.
