Abstract: Childhood obesity has become a global epidemic with severe repercussions on metabolic and renal health. This article provides a critical analysis based on the text “Childhood obesity and insulin resistance: long-term metabolic and renal effects” and recent scientific literature. Findings show that insulin resistance plays a central role in the development of comorbidities, leading to chronic inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, and early kidney injury. Early interventions such as lifestyle changes, proper nutrition, and regular physical activity proved effective. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a multidisciplinary approach and integrated public policies to mitigate the harmful effects of childhood obesity and protect the metabolic and renal health of future generations.
