O VALOR ECONÔMICO DE UM BANCO DE TEMPO: UMA ANÁLISE DO BANCO DE TEMPO - FLORIANÓPOLIS
O Banco de Tempo pode ser visto
como um sistema que funciona por meio de uma
moeda da comunidade – o tempo - utilizando o
princípio de que o tempo de todos é valorizado
igualmente. O presente artigo analisa um dos
primeiros sistemas de banco de tempo criado
no Brasil: o “Banco de Tempo – Florianópolis”
(BTF). BTF tem um breve período de tempo de
vida, mas se demonstra um sistema em rápido
crescimento: foi criado em meados de 2016
e aumentou consideravelmente o número de
membros, atingindo aproximadamente 3.200
membros em dezembro de 2017. O artigo
tem como objetivo principal estimar qual é o
valor dos bens e serviços que foram objeto
de transações dentro do BTF, de modo a
demonstrar a importância e o tamanho do BTF
na economia local. A análise desenvolvida no
artigo estima que o valor econômico dos bens e
serviços trocado no BTF ao longo de um ano e
quatro meses é superior a um milhão de reais,
que pode ser considerado um valor relevante
dado o fato que o BTF está nos primeiros anos
de vida. A mesma importância do BTF pode ser
verificada com os números relativos à média do
gasto por parte de cada membro. Enfim, pude ser
verificado que um número maior de transações
aconteceu para compra de bens e serviços da
faixa de preços inferior que da faixa de preço
média e superior, levando à hipótese que os
membros aderem ao BTF mais por motivos
ideológicos que por motivos econômicos.

Abstract:
Time Bank can be seen as a
system that works through a community currency
- time - using the principle that everyone’s time
is valued equally. This paper analyzes one of
the first time bank systems created in Brazil:
“Time Bank - Florianópolis” (BTF). BTF has
a brief period of life, but it demonstrates to
be a rapidly growing system: it was created
in mid-2016 and increased considerably the
number of members, reaching approximately
3,200 members in December 2017. The main
objective of the paper is to estimate which is the
value of the goods and services that were the
object of transactions within the BTF, in order to
demonstrate the importance and size of the BTF
in the local economy. The analysis developed in
the paper estimates that the economic value of
the goods and services exchanged in the BTF
over a year and four months is approximately
one million reais, which can be considered a
relevant value given the fact that BTF is in the
early years of life. The same importance of the BTF can be verified using the numbers
relative to the average of the expense for each member. Finally, it could be verified that
a greater number of transactions happened to buy goods and services from the lower
price range than from the average and higher price range, leading to the hypothesis that
members adhere to the BTF more for ideological reasons than for economic reasons.
