O USO DO LASER NA PREVENÇÃO DE CÁRIE EM DENTES DECÍDUOS - REVISÃO DE LITERATURA

• Abstract: Keeping primary teeth in the oral cavity for as long as possible prevents a multitude of health problems. Thus, modern dentistry seeks to take advantage of a minimally invasive approach, aiming to detect carious defects in their initial stage, to avoid or minimize invasive treatments. The aims of the present study was challenged in a literature review of intervention methods through the use of dental caries in deciduous teeth, detecting it early through an approach. Dental means for caries diagnosis, in addition to the use of laser, were sources for preserving the structure of deciduous teeth, which early can be used and the recommended parameters. For this, a search for articles was carried out in the following database: PubMed, from 2015 to 2023. The keywords used were: Dental Caries, Primary Teeth, Laser, Preventive Dentistry; research in the English language. It is concluded that the use of laser as a means of preventing caries disease is extremely important, especially when associated with other preventive means such as: topical application of fluoride, use of fluoridated toothpastes and water fluoridation.
